Known as one of the best guitar player of West Africa, Mama Sissoko was born in 1949 in Nioro du Sahel. He was then sent to Bamako to live with his uncle Djeli Baba Sissoko, griot and n'goni player. In 1974, he joined the Super Biton de Ségou as a singer and guitarist. After the Super Biton split up, Mama embarked on a solo career. His album "Soleil de Minuit" was released in 1999.
